I spent $100 at famous Las Vegas hotel buffet and here's my verdict

REVIEW: Spending more than $100 on a buffet sounds slightly ridiculous at first

    Las Vegas

Las Vegas is a city built on excess. So when I found myself standing outside the famous Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace, I knew this wasn't going to be an ordinary dinner.

After all, spending more than $100 on a buffet sounds slightly ridiculous at first.

However, once I stepped inside, it quickly became clear why this place has become one of the most talked-about dining experiences on the Strip.

Is the Caesars Palace buffet really worth the money?

The short answer is yes. The longer answer is that it depends on how much you enjoy variety.

Thankfully, variety is something the Bacchanal Buffet has in abundance. Wherever I looked, there seemed to be another station packed with food from around the world.

As a result, it felt less like a traditional buffet and more like a food tour without leaving the building. One of the biggest highlights was the seafood selection.

There was a huge range available, and seafood lovers could easily spend an entire evening working their way through the options. Meanwhile, the Asian section was equally impressive.

From classic favorites to dishes I don't often see at buffets back home, there was plenty to keep me coming back for another plate.

What was the best food at the Caesars Palace buffet?

For me, the American section stole the show. The barbecue was outstanding and easily one of the standout parts of the entire experience.

In particular, the brisket deserves special recognition. Tender, smoky and packed with flavor, it was the sort of dish you'd happily pay good money for at a dedicated barbecue restaurant.

The spicy chicken wings were another surprise hit. They had just the right amount of heat and disappeared from my plate alarmingly quickly.

Elsewhere, there was a solid selection of pizzas and a small Mexican section that added even more variety to an already enormous spread.

While not every single item was unforgettable, the overall quality was far higher than I expected from a buffet serving such a huge number of guests. That's what ultimately makes the experience stand out.

Should you spend $100 on the Caesars Palace buffet?

If you're visiting Las Vegas and fancy treating yourself to one of the city's iconic dining experiences, I think it's absolutely worth considering.

Sure, spending more than $100 on dinner isn't something most people do every day. However, if you're already in a city famous for going big, it feels strangely appropriate.

And who knows? If luck is on your side, you might even win the cost of your meal back on the slot machines afterward.
